Official Rules

  1. All fish entered in competition must be registered & weighed at the official weighing station which is located at the Rodeo pavillion.
  2. Registration fee is $50.00. Anglers must be registered prior to entering competition. Ticket number must be presented to the weighmaster each time a fish is brought in for entry. If the angler is not present, his or her fish must be tagged with name and registration number.
  3. Methods of fishing shall be casting, drift fishing, trolling and still fishing.
  4. Fishing waters include Coastal waters and Gulf of Mexico.
  5. Competition starting time is Friday June 12th at 6:00am. Closing on Saturday, June 13th at 3:00pm.
  6. Fish shall not be weighed except in the presence of the official weigh master. The registration card or number of the angler who caught the fish must be furnished or the fish will not be weighed or eligible for competition. MUTILATED fish will not be weighed.
  7. In the event of a tie, the first fish entered shall be the winner.
  8. Decisions of the weigh master are FINAL.
  9. All fish weighed by the weigh master become the property of the rodeo.
  10. Eligible fish are: Adult Division: Speckled Trout, White Trout, Redfish under 27", Sheepshead, Drum, Flounder and Large Mouth Bass. Children Division: Speckled Trout, Drum, Sheepshead, Redfish under 27" and Redfish with the most spots.
  11. No child will be allowed entered in the Adult Division.
  12. Children Division age limit is under 15.
  13. For the 50/50 Stringer of 5 Trout, winner is determined by the 5 heaviest Speckled Trout per boat. These trout may not be entered in 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place Speckled Trout Category.
  14. Redfish under 27" is measured by placing the closed mouth of the fish against the wall of the ruler. The tail is pinched and must not extend past 27".
  15. "Fisherman of the Year Award" is chosen by the IAFR Committee.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Speckled Trout
  • Drum
  • Sheepshead
  • Flounder
  • Redfish (< 27")
  • Bass
  • White Trout (White Trout – 1st Place Only)
Children’s Division – Awards

1st Place will be awarded in each of the following categories (All Child participants will receive a prize)

  • Speckled Trout
  • Drum
  • Sheepshead
  • Redfish (< 27")
  • Redfish with most spots
50/50 Division - Stringer of 5 Speckled Trout

Entry: $50 per boat
Guaranteed payout of $200
